Ottawa Man Arrested on Drug Charges

THUNDER BAY – CRIME – Thunder Bay Police have another Ottawa man in custody.

Police report that a twenty-nine-year-old Ottawa man is in custody facing drug charges following a call to a Picton Avenue address on Friday afternoon. Police stated that “Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Picton Avenue just after 5:15 p.m. on August 19, 2016 regarding an intoxicated male who was causing a disturbance outside of a residence.  The man was spotted by responding officers walking northbound on Picton near Red River Road.  Further investigation by Uniform Patrol revealed he was carrying a quantity of drugs and over $2,600 in cash.  Over 1,000 pills were seized believed to include Alprazolam, Oxy’s and Percocets”.

Twenty-nine-year-old Manock Achuil LUAL of Ottawa has been charged with:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (3 counts)
  • Proceeds of Crime Under $5,000

His next court appearance is Monday.
