THUNDER BAY – NEWS – The Thunder Bay Police Service have issued an advisory regarding a High Risk Offender who is residing in our community.

This advisory is in the interest of public safety – stated the TBPS.

Gregory THOMPSON (D.O.B. April 12, 1961) will be residing in Thunder Bay as of August 5, 2016. Thompson was Found Not Criminally responsible for Sexual Assault, Aggravated Assault and Theft.

THOMPSON is an elope from a Quebec institution, who is being released after a six day remand. THOMPSON has stated he is attempting to travel to British Columbia.

Based on the sum of this information, we believe that this individual represents a significant risk.
Once an address is obtained for where THOMPSON will be residing an update will be forwarded.

THOMPSON’s Description:
. 55 years old male
. 5’6″ tall – 250 lbs
. Caucasion
. Blue eyes – Blonde hair


This advisory is being issued to provide information necessary for public safety. This release is in accordance with the authority granted by the Police Services Act – O’Reg 265/98, Sec 2(1)(2).

The Police Services Act – O’Reg 265/98, Sec. 2 states the Chief of Police or his or her designate who would disclose the personal information reasonably believes that the individual poses a significant risk of harm to other persons or property; and that the disclosure of the information will reduce that risk.
