First Responders Assist Woman to Safety

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police Officers saved the life of a woman today who was on the third floor of the Victoriaville Parkade and threatening to jump.

The officers arrived at the parkade at about 10:00AM EDT on Wednesday, July 6th. The woman who was distraught was on the ledge of the packade and threatening to jump according to a TBPS media statement.

A Thunder Bay woman is alive today thanks to the quick thinking of two TBPS officers.

Police report that “one officer was able to keep her calm and distract her while the other officer was able to position himself to grab ahold of her to bring her to safety. The female has been taken to the hospital for assessment”.

This call for service required the combined efforts of all three first responders, Thunder Bay Police, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue, and Superior EMS to be able to assist the female in a life and death crisis.
