KENORA – ROAD Closures – Kenora also received significant rainfall over the past thirty six hours. Rain has caused closures to several roads in the area.
- School Road is now open for travel
- Veterans Drive remains closed until further notice
- Beggs Road (Millers swamp) is flooded
Please be advised that due to the high volume of precipitation we have received in Kenora, the Beggs Road (Miller swamp area) is underwater.
This road is still open, however, it is not recommended that the public drive through any flooded road sections as the City will not be responsible for any damages incurred. Visibility of the road in this area is limited.
Also due to the high volume of precipitation we have received in Kenora, the Roads Department have closed Veterans Drive between the Highway 17 bypass and Rabbit Lake Road intersection due to flooding.
Roads Crews will continue to work in the area, however, the road is unpassable for motor vehicles at this time.
Please use an alternate route until the road can be reopened. The closest alternate routes from the bypass into the City are by exiting onto Airport Road from the east side of Hwy 17A and Darlington Drive (Highway 596) intersection from the west side of Hwy 17A.
