THUNDER BAY – Heading into the weekend the wildfire situation is remaining fairly stable.

There was one new fire confirmed in the Northwest Region by the afternoon of June 17. Nipigon Fire Number 20 is not under control at 0.1 hectares and is located near Little Steel Lake.

The fire hazard is high in the northern and eastern sectors of the region and low to moderate in the western sectors of the region.

  • Red Lake 3 is being observed and Thunder Bay 19 is under control.
