THUNDER BAY – AVIATION – As part of their continued network optimization strategies. North Star Air is introducing the next phase of their plans effective June 15th 2016. This optimization will provide better routes and schedules, flexibility, new saver fares and more choices to better serve their customers.

This phase of optimization is a result of growth and demand across all their lines of businesses which include passenger, charter, cargo/freight and fuel services. Currently, their Flex Flight passenger services serve 18 destinations in Northern Ontario with 80% of those destinations being First Nation communities. Going forward, they are building out a scalable flex network to expand the number of destinations.

North Star Air is a successful airline offering a full suite of cost-effective air transportation solutions. A seasoned executive team along with their modernized and low maintenance fleet positions them well to compete and serve the growing demand across the north and beyond. Their fleet includes 3 Basler Turbo BT-67, 6 Pilatus PC-12 and 2 Cessna Caravans with plans to add more aircraft.

Today, they operate from their various bases and locations in Thunder Bay, Sioux Lookout, Pickle Lake, Red Lake, and Kapuskasing.

North Star Air continues to demonstrate their commitment to the North through their revenue sharing agreements with 10 First Nations. Since the inception of the strategic partnerships, they have contributed more than one million dollars and counting to their partner communities which gets invested back into their local economies.

In 2015, they opened their check-in counters in the Thunder Bay airport and Sioux Lookout airport in support of their growth strategies and to ensure the best possible customer journey.
