Sioux Lookout OPP Charge Two for Forcible Confinement

OPP Ontario Provincial PoliceSIOUX LOOKOUT – The Sioux Lookout Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) report that two men, residents of Sioux Lookout have been arrested for attempting to take the law into their own hands. The OPP Detachment report, “During the morning of August 29, 2015, officers were met outside the detachment by two residents who advised they had made a citizens arrest of an individual whom they suspected had committed a crime. The alleged suspect was turned over to the officers.

The investigation revealed that the alleged suspect was not responsible for the crime, and the subsequent actions of the citizens was not lawful.

As a result of this incident, forty-year-year old Wally Woods and fifty-five-year old Pat Clara have been charged with forcible confinement contrary to the Criminal Code.

Both accused are now scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Sioux Lookout on September 29, 2015.
