Boil Water Advisory Notice for Zone 2N
THUNDER BAY – UPDATED – The failure of the Chamberlain Pumping Station has the City of Thunder Bay asking all residents to limit their use of water. “All customers city-wide are asked to limit water use wherever possible due to a failure at the Chamberlain Pumping Station that occurred at approximately 3 am this morning,” according to a release from the city.
Customers in the North End may experience lowwater pressure, discoloured water, or no water service today.
As repairs are completed, residents in Zone 2N, extending north of Oliver Road and west of Algoma Street, may experience low water pressure. During this time, customers may experience discoloured water. Should they observe any discolouration, customers are asked NOT to flush their lines until further notice.
The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is issuing a precautionary Boil Water Advisory Notice for Zone 2N (due to low water pressure) and affected customers will be notified.
Questions may be directed to Infrastructure & Operations Dispatch at 625-2195.
Additionally, a section of Chamberlain Street, between Shuniah and Egan Streets, has been closed to all traffic as efforts to restore water service at the Chamberlain Pumping Station continue.
The duration of the closure is unknown at this time. Motorists are asked to avoid travelling in the area and obey all posted signage.
Staff have immediately responded to determine the cause and restore service. Questions may be directed to Infrastructure & Operations Dispatch at 625-2195.
