THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Thunder Bay Police report that they made an arrest of a reported drug dealer.
On the March 15th 2016 at approximately 9:00 AM Thunder Bay Police Service Officers with the Gang and Drug Units executed a controlled Drug and Substances Act Search Warrant in the 400 Block of Picadilly Avenue. As a result of this search $10,000 in illegal narcotics which included cocaine, hydromorphone and oxycodone pills were seized along with over $30,000 in cash.
Grant McMuldroch, 58 years of Thunder Bay faces three counts of drug trafficking and possession of proceeds over five thousand dollars, he has been remanded to the Thunder Bay District Jail.
In a statement Thunder Bay Police service said, “The residence where this warrant was executed is approximately two hundred meters from a local north side elementary school. The Thunder Bay Police Service takes an especially dim view of persons who would seek to profit on the backs of those fighting addiction particularly in neighbourhoods so close to where children learn and play.”
“The issues these drug dealers bring to neighbourhoods cannot be understated, rest assured we will continue to actively investigate drug trafficking in order to reduce the resulting crime and social disorder it brings to our community,” assure police.
Police Deal with hundreds of Calls
Police have dealt with a number of crimes over the past week.
In the downtown Fort William Neighbourhood, there have been fifty Quality of Life calls, which include drug and alcohol related calls as well as public disturbances. There were fifteen calls that were related to violent incidents including assault. Police also responded to nineteen property calls, that include broken windows, vandalism and other related incidents.
In the Port Arthur downtown it was slightly quieter. Police dealt with twenty-six Quality of Life calls, eight violent incidents, and fifteen property crime calls.
