Police Seek Two Suspects in Assault

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Thunder Bay Police are reporting on an assault on February 13th that sent a seventeen-year-old youth to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. The youth was reportedly approached by what police describe as two  Native Canadian males approximately 30 years old with medium builds. One male is 5’8″ tall and the other is slightly taller. Both males were wearing black hoodies or jackets and the shorter male had the bottom portion of his face covered with a balaclava.

The Thunder Bay Police Criminal Investigation Branch are currently investigating the assault that occurred on February 13th, at approximately 5:00PM EST.

Police state that the youth was walking on the footbridge between Northern and Southern Avenue at the end of Syndicate Avenue when he was approached by the two males who demanded a cigarette.

The victim was assaulted, stabbed and shot with a pellet or air soft gun.

Thunder Bay Police state that the victim was able to fight his way out of the situation and make it to his residence.

Police and ambulance were called and the victim was escorted to the TBRHSC for medical treatment.

There were several other assaults over the weekend across Thunder Bay. The crime report shows nine assaults since last Thursday, along with three weapons offences and one sexual assault.
