NAPS Nishnawbe Police ServiceTHUNDER BAY – On Sunday, January 10, 2016, the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service Drug Unit received information about drugs destined for the First Nation community of Eabametoong and further investigation resulted in one man being charged.

Police investigation resulted in the seizure of Percocet prescription pills, Suboxone pills and Marihuana. The estimated northern street value of the seizure is approximately one thousand five-hundred eighty ($1,580.00) dollars.

Twenty-four-year-old Clyde Mitchell Wapoose of Eabametoong First Nation (Fort Hope) has been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.

Wapoose has been released from custody on conditions and will next appear in court in Thunder Bay on March 18, 2016.

Eabametoong First Nation is located approximately 385 km northeast of Thunder Bay.
