THUNDER BAY – Don’t tell the kids… but Santa Claus is getting a little help. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Toys for the North campaign are getting set to head north to deliver a batch of toys to the young people in Round Lake First Nation, Deer Lake, and Bearskin Lake.
However it is very likely that this toy delivery which will be completed before Christmas will not be aboard Santa’s sleigh and pulled by a team of magical reindeer.
The toys arrived in Thunder Bay today at the North Star Air Hanger, and will head north to be enjoyed by young people very soon.
“O” Division Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has participated in the ‘Toys for the North’ toy drive since 2010 in partnership with the Canadian Toy Association and Thomson Terminals transportation. This initiative has evolved over the past five years to include a national network of RCMP, law enforcement, corporate and external partners who collectively contribute to the success of delivering new toys to children in our Northern communities.
