THUNDER BAY – All of the weather alerts for the City of Thunder Bay have ended. The storm has not dumped massive amounts of snow in the city, but has left roads slippery and many people, especially on the north side of Thunder Bay without power.

Thunder Bay Hydro is reporting that about 2500 customers are without power this morning.

Hydro One is also reporting outages brought about because of the storm. There are just over 4000 Hydro One Customers without power.

School Closures

The Lakehead Board of Education has cancelled school buses for the day and rural schools are closed.

All RURAL schools are CLOSED today and ALL transportation is CANCELLED – this includes all RURAL AND URBAN transportation.

All URBAN schools remain OPEN.

Due to icy road conditions, the following RURAL schools will be closed today:

Valley Central

Crestview

Nor’Wester View

Whitefish Valley

Five Mile

Gorham and Ware

McKenzie

Kakabeka Falls

Highway Conditions:

All highways across the region are open. However most have either snow packed or icy conditions.
