The Party Party Gathers to Keep Momentum Going
THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Superior North MP Bruce Hyer says that he would like to change the name of the Green Party to the “Party Party”. Hyer of course, is likely kidding, but then again, tonight at the Finlandia Hall, joined by Party Leader Elizabeth May, and a host of local entertainers, the party is getting underway at 9:PM EDT.
The public meeting filled the Finlandia Hall to capacity with at least 70 people standing at the back of the room to attend.
Considering that on the Friday night of the Thanksgiving weekend, the Greens were able to fill the hall, and keep the crowd right through the meeting, it was a political accomplishment.
Green Party Leader Elizabeth May asked the capacity crowd, “For how many of you is this the first time you have come to a Green Party event?” An estimated sixty per cent of the crowd put up their hands. “That is the secret sauce for the Green Party,” stated May. “The Green Party wins when we bring out more voters”.
May told the audience that across Canada, “Voters are telling me this is the first time that they are headed to the polls and voting without having to hold their nose, because they are voting Green”.
The Green Party Leader is seeking the voters in Thunder Bay Superior North to return Bruce Hyer to Parliament.
The Greens state that the New Democrats are running robo-calls into Thunder Bay Superior North telling them that the race is between the Conservative candidate Richard Harvey and the New Democrat candidate Andrew Foulds.
Hyer stated that he believes that it is a tight three way race, and that the momentum is shifting as the support for the federal New Democrats appears to be falling off.
