THUNDER BAY – SPORTS – The Thunder Bay Queens will have teams in action, at home and away, this weekend. The RBC Dominion Securities bantam AA side is off to southern Ontario to take part in the Stoney Creek Sabres AA Showcase while the Sportop midget AA squad is set to host the St. Mary’s Academy Flames of Winnipeg for a three-game series.
Game action for the bantams begins Friday at 8 a.m. when they take on the Philadelphia Little Flyers.
The club’s second contest of the day goes at 1:55 p.m. vs. Honeybaked of Michigan.
Round robin play for the RBC Dominion Securities Queens concludes Saturday at 9:25 a.m. when they face-off against the Kingston Ice Wolves.
Further match-ups in Stoney Creek will then be based on the results of their first three outings.
As for the Sportop Queens, they’ll take on St. Mary’s twice on Saturday, beginning with an 8:45 a.m. encounter at the Thunder Bay Tournament Centre.
The second meeting of the day goes at 4:45 p.m. and will be held at Fort William First Nation Arena.
Sunday’s finale between the Queens and Flames, in the three-game set, is slated for 10:15 a.m. at FWFNA.
