THUNDER BAY – SPORTS – In the final game of the 2015 season the Thunder Bay Border Cats took the win with a 6-1 victory over the Duluth Huskies in front of nearly 1400 fans including three time Stanley Cup Champion and Thunder Bay native Patrick Sharp.
Dan Rizzie (Xavier) closed out his first Northwoods League season with the longest hit streak in the league this summer going 24 consecutive games while Jared James (Long Beach) finished with the highest batting average in Border Cats history with a .364. James finished second in the league-batting race as Mason McCoy finished on top with a .367.
Starting pitcher Johnny York (St Mary’s) finishes with a 3-1 record going 5.3 shutout innings in the win.
