THUNDER BAY – SPORTS – Hard fought is the best way to describe the battle at Tbaytel Park on Friday night. The Thunder Bay Border Cats finally fell to the St. Cloud Rox 2-1 in a hard fought game Friday night at TbayTel Park.
The Border Cats report, “Starting pitcher Zach Thiac (Nicholls State) went the first seven innings allowing only four hits and striking out five while Nate Steger was handed his second loss of the season going two innings, allowing an RBI double in the top of the ninth and allowing only four hits.
“Carter McEachern (Trinity University) notched an RBI that brought home Jared James (Long Beach State) in the bottom of the first to get the Cats on the board while a total of five Border Cats put up hits for the team”.
The Border Cats look to split the last game of the home stand Saturday night at 6:05pm EST at TbayTel Park. With lots of competition for the entertainment dollar this weekend, getting out to the old ball park to root, root, root for the home team would sure help the Border Cats get back in the series.
