THUNDER BAY – CRIME NEWS – Thunder Bay Police are reporting on a bust of a grow op. Police state, “On March 11, 2015 the Thunder Bay Police Drug Unit and Gang and Gun Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances warrant at a semi-rural north side residence. The officers discovered an elaborate marijuana grow operation within the residence. The grow operation was well concealed in a professionally constructed hidden area of the residence”.
Due to the nature of the operation, personnel from the Thunder Bay Fire and Rescue as well as the Electrical Safety Authority were also brought in to assist.
Officers seized 250 marijuana plants in various stages of production as well as 7303 grams of dried marihuana and 1342 grams of marihuana resin.
The estimated street value of all the drugs combined is approximately $460,000.00.
A 34 year old Thunder Bay man and a 30 year Thunder Bay woman have each been charged with production of marijuana and marijuana resin as well as possession for the purpose of trafficking marijuana and marijuana resin.
