Staal Foundation Open Ready for July in Thunder Bay

THUNDER BAY – The PGA TOUR Canada Staal Foundation Open, presented by Tbaytel is back, bigger and better than ever for the 2015 stop on the Canadian tour.

“Last year was our first year and our focus was primarily on hosting the best event on PGA Tour Canada and making certain the competitors, organizers, and crowds would look forward to coming back.”

There were 12,000 people watching the tournament out at the beautiful Whitewater Golf Club.

This year’s event planning is ongoing.

The Staal family continue to be the major sponsor of the event, helping to raise funds for the Staal Family Foundation, supporting families and children battling cancer.

Tbaytel continues their three year sponsorship of the tournament. “We continue to see this event as a premier sponsorship opportunity for the company,” stated Dan Topatigh, President and CEO of Tbaytel.

“We have become very well known on the TOUR, and players were very impressed with the event, the golf course and the hospitality they were shown here in Thunder Bay. This will bode well as we continue to press for a permanent annual stop,” said Quaresima.

Tickets are already available at www.staalopen.ca As with last year, all ticket sale revenues will go to local and regional charities. Sponsorship opportunities are also available by contacting the Staal Foundation Open office at 633-GOLF.

The Valhalla Inn has been confirmed again this year as the host hotel for the Staal Foundation Open, presented by Tbaytel.
