THUNDER BAY – NEWS – The City of Thunder Bay has issued the 2014 Drinking Water Quality Annual Report.
“This report contains detailed information about the City’s drinking water system and the quality of our water,” said Kerri Marshall, Director – Environment Division. “Our City’s water is monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This report details how we monitor the quality, and the results of the myriad tests we routinely run. It shows that our residents can have the utmost confidence in our City’s water distribution system and the quality of the drinking water it produces.”
Under the provisions of Ontario regulation 170/03 all municipalities must ensure that a report is prepared and submitted to the Ministry of Environment for each calendar year. The provincial regulations also set out mandatory treatment requirements for facilities using surface water as a source. Water samples are taken and evaluated for all parameters that can impact water quality.
The Drinking Water Quality 2014 Annual Report is available online on the City of Thunder Bay’s web site at www.thunderbay.ca/water. Print copies can be obtained at the City Clerk’s Office in City Hall, at all branches of Thunder Bay Public Libraries and at the Bare Point Water Treatment Plant.
