WATERLOO – The Lakehead University women got their 11th win of the season on Friday evening, winning 73-59 over the Waterloo Warriors. They will do battle again tomorrow evening in Waterloo. Lakehead led by 7 at halftime and won the 3rd and 4th quarters to cruise to victory.
Top performers for Lakehead were Lindsay Druery with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 3 steals, and Sarah Gordon with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Lacey McNulty had 16 points and 5 rebounds, while Tasia McKenna chipped in 11 points (3 threes). Waterloo got production from Saraya Hickey with 16 points and Erin Tilley with 14.
LU coach Jon Kreiner wants to see his team get their defense together for tomorrow’s game. “Our defense was terrible tonight and we turned the ball over far too many times. Our bigs and Gordon stepped up offensively tonight but we nee to sharpen up our defense and contain their better players.”
