Community Living Fort Frances and District in Fort Frances, Ontario is receiving funding from the province to promote inclusive employment and improve services and supports for people with developmental disabilities.
Our government’s investment of $300,000 in Community Living Fort Frances and District will allow the agency:
- To implement a training program for staff members on customized employment approaches
- To enable staff members to work with employers to identify business needs and tailor strategies to meet these needs
- To provide competitive employment positions for individuals with developmental disabilities
The agency will also enhance its employer outreach activities and provide resources and awareness to promote the hiring of individuals with developmental disabilities.
The fund is part of Ontario’s 2014 Budget commitment to invest $810 million over three years to build stronger services and supports for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Supporting people with developmental disabilities is part of Ontario’s plan to give everyone a chance to participate in the province’s economy and communities. It is also part of the government’s four-part plan to build Ontario up by investing in people’s talents and skills, building new public infrastructure like roads and transit, creating a dynamic, supportive environment where business thrives, and building a secure savings plan so everyone can afford to retire.

By investing in these projects, we are helping to make participation in Ontario’s economy and communities a priority for everyone in our society, especially for our most vulnerable,” says Dr. Helena Jaczek, Minister of Community and Social Services.
