Special weather statement in effect for:

  • City of Toronto

Poor winter travelling conditions today and tonight.

Periods of snow will continue today and tonight in the wake of an Arctic cold front that has pushed into Southwestern Ontario. The snow will be mixed at times with ice pellets and patchy freezing drizzle near and southwest of a line from Collingwood to Oshawa. The precipitation will change over to all snow this evening as temperatures continue to drop across all regions.

Total snowfall amounts by Monday morning will generally be in the 4 to 8 centimetre range, with 10 cm possible in a few localities.

Poor winter driving conditions will continue today and tonight. Untreated roads could become snow covered and slippery. Motorists should plan for extra time to reach their destination.

The snow will slowly taper off later tonight except in Eastern Ontario where periods of light snow will likely continue into Monday. Driving conditions will slowly improve on Monday as a result.
