Joe Vanderwees Passes at 84

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay has lost a classy and positive person. On Monday, Joe Vanderewees passed away after a long battle with cancer.

The former city Councillor was also the founder of highly successful Vanderwees Home and Garden centre.

Joe Vanderwees was was 84.

Vanderwees spent twenty-five years in politics and served the region as first an Alderman in McIntyre. Then he served on Thunder Bay City Council as Councillor at Large.

There will be a memorial service for Joe Vanderwees  which is going to be open to the public on Friday afternoon at 4:00PM at the Da Vinci Centre.
