THUNDER BAY – CRIME – Thunder Bay Police Service made quick work of a break and enter suspect last night. A heavy response with six units helped in making a very fast arrest of a suspect.
A Thunder Bay man is in custody after a breaking into a residence on the 800 block of Frederica Street on the evening of October 15, 2014.
Just after 11:30 p.m., the homeowners heard a window smash at the rear of the residence and immediately called 911. A male with his face covered and a knife was observed entering the residence through the window of the rear porch.
The male was demanding money and took a knapsack located in the porch and fled. The homeowner was able to secure the back door.
Moments later the same male re-entered the residence through the window. One of the homeowners fled the house and the other was threatened by the male and fled to the the house shortly after and both victims waited for the police in the safety of their own car.
The suspect fled on foot.
Police arrived on scene and located a male matching the descriptors of the suspect at the intersection of Francis Street and James Street. The male was taken into custody without incident. A search of the suspect subsequent to the arrest located items take from the homeowner’s wallet.
Christopher Marvin Raymer, a twenty-eight-year-old has been charged with two counts of Break and Enter, Wearing a Disguise with Intent, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
Raymer made a court appearance today and has been remanded to the district jail.
