WINNIPEG – SPORTS – The Thunderwolves women’s basketball team captured their second win of the pre-season, 58-40 over the Brandon Bobcats as their campaign at the BOB FM Women’s Basketball Shootout continued.

Halftime score was 37-21 for the ‘Wolves.

Point guard Katie Ulakovic made 7 assists with just 1 turnover, while rookie August Rickets scored 6 points with 4 rebounds.

Coach Jon Kreiner stated, “We played great team defence today and it’s a good thing as we struggled to finish around the hoop tonight. Jylisa was in the zone in the first half, we really needed her to take charge and she did that. Rookies Bridget O’Reilly and August Rickets stepped up tonight and impressed. We had a late one tonight with a quick turnaround before playing Manitoba at 10am [tomorrow]. We will need to find a way to bring energy to our game and finish the weekend strong.”

Lakehead complete their weekend in Winnipeg against the Manitoba Bison Sunday at 10 am (local time).
