THUNDER BAY – Today, Habitat for Humanity Thunder Bay is thrilled to announce that the organization can continue the construction of its 2014 home build. Earlier this week the not-for-profit had to announce that the construction of 677 Hodder Avenue had to be postponed for the rest of the year, due to a lack of funding. After this information was released to the media and made public, two very generous donations were made to the organization.
“Habitat for Humanity Thunder Bay is ecstatic about this news. It is amazing that two individuals have stepped up to ensure that two Thunder Bay families in need will receive a new home this year. Our volunteers along side our build coordinator, can now resume construction of the semi-detached house. Habitat for Humanity Thunder Bay is overwhelmed with the kindness and generosity of these two individuals. ” Says Chair of the Board, Andrew Campbell.
The donors wish to remain anonymous. Over the last five years, the Thunder Bay Insurance-Gillons team has raised over $80,000 in support of the Habitat for Humanity home. Volunteers are expected to back on site next week. Depending on weather conditions, Habitat for Humanity Thunder Bay hopes to complete the build before the new year.
