6.1 Magnitude Earthquake Hits California

Breaking NewsNAPA, CALIFORNIA – A magnitude 6.0 Earthquake hit northern California early Sunday morning at about 3:30AM PDT. The earthquake struck north-west of American Canyon, at a depth of 6.7 miles. This Facebook video is described as showing the aftermath of the earthquake in a 24-hour Safeway store in Martinez, California.

There are reports of individuals in Napa California who are trapped in buildings. The earthquake had ‘Rolling movements’ and there are images coming forward of damage to buildings and infrastructure.

This is the largest earthquake to hit the Bay area in California since 1989.

At 08:47AM PDT there were aftershocks continuing to impact the area. There are homes on fire, and rescue workers are on scene.
