THUNDER BAY – Canada Day is getting going early in the Windsor neighbourhood in Thunder Bay.
The event is put on by the Community Action Group (CAG) which has been in operation in the Windsor Blucher Picton Neighbourhood. Alaina King, Nicole Baxter, Carolyn Baxter, Mark Halabecki are all volunteering and a growing number of local residents have been building the neighbourhood up with help from the City of Thunder Bay, Evergreen Neighbourhood, and the Multicultural Youth Council to name just a few of the helpers.
The Regional The Multicultural Youth Council is getting set to feel lots of youth and neighbourhood residents. Moffat and his young people present a real benefit to the City of Thunder Bay.
The Community Action Group has been working hard in the neighbourhood.
Alaina King says, “It is beautiful, there is an amazing turnout, and there are tonnes of kids here”.
Tyler Cole says “The barbecue is good for the community, and the kids are all playing peacefully together”.
There is lots of fun activities for all the kids.
The power of volunteering helps to build neighbourhoods.
The party, held at Sleeping Giant Park, which was created several years ago with help from the Katimavik program, has a giant lawn chair.
