THUNDER BAY – Diversity in action was happening today at the Thunder Bay Pride Festival at Marina Park. People from all walks of life came out to engage and celebrate.

The festival was an inclusive event, and brought people together with a theme of understanding that we can all get along.

The Honourary Parade Marshall was Fort William First Nation Chief Georjann Morriseau. Thunder Bay City Councillors Paul Pugh and Andrew Foulds represented the City.

Wendy and Heather Morgan stated that “Thunder Pride is a great community event”.

2014 is the 4th annual Thunder Pride Week.

Dozens of vendors, and hundreds of people attended this increasingly popular event in Thunder Bay. There was a full line-up of talent on the stage at Marina Park.

Almost wintery chilly weather, in the middle of June did not detract from the event. There were a lot of new vendors, and there were events and activities for everyone. The Kids area featured a ‘bouncy area’.

The Thunder Pride Festival was kicked off wih a parade that started at Waverly Park and wound its way to Marina Park.

The Thunder Pride Committee offers a celebration of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, two-spirited, and queer communities within our region, along with their families, friends, allies, and supporters. Thunder Pride is a celebration of the beautiful diversity that exists in our families, work place, community and region.
