THUNDER BAY – NORTH BAY – The Ministry of Transportation advises that Highway 17 will be closed to traffic approximately 18 kilometres south of Wawa starting at noon today.
The road closure is necessary to carry out an emergency culvert replacement. Work is expected to take up to two days to complete.
A detour is in place for Highway 17 traffic via Highway 101 from Wawa to Chapleau and Highway 129 to Thessalon. Long distance truck traffic may wish to take Highway 11 from North Bay to Nipigon.
