FORT SEVERN – WASHAHO FIRST NATION – Snow? Yes. Environment Canada reports, “A deepening low pressure system form the American Midwest will track North reaching Hudson Bay Wednesday morning”.
The snowfall warning is also in effect for
- Big Trout Lake – Kasabonika
- Sachigo Lake – Bearskin Lake
Precipitation associated with the system is expected to begin this morning over the Big Trout Lake area and this afternoon over Fort Severn. Wet snow, possibly mixed with rain at times, will transition to all snow later today as northerly winds bring temperatures near or below the freezing mark.
Snowfall totals of 15 to 25 cm will be possible before the snow tapers off Wednesday. Strong and gusty northerly winds will also likely reduce visibilities in blowing snow. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
Snowfall Warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.
Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required, so stay tuned to your local media or Weatheradio.
