THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – Thunder Bay is not escaping winter yet. Environment Canada is calling for significant snowfall on Friday.
“An Alberta clipper will track across the northern plains of the U.S. into Wisconsin by Friday evening. Snow associated with this system will spread into the Lake of the Woods area late this evening and reach Thunder Bay Friday morning. Total snowfall amounts in the 5 to 10 cm range are likely however locally higher amounts are possible. The snow may be heavy at times and will begin to taper off Friday afternoon”.
If you are planning a trip south to Duluth, the forecast is calling for light snow. Snow accumulation of 2 to 3 inches. Highs 33F to 38F. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph becoming northeast early in the afternoon…then becoming north 10 to 15 mph late in the afternoon.
Travelers should exercise caution as untreated roads may become slippery and visibilities may be reduced locally.
