Andrea Horwath Calls for Change
THUNDER BAY – News – The New Democrats have their sights set firmly on Bill Mauro and Michael Gravelle. Today in Thunder Bay the New Democrats nominated Mary Lozorys as their candidate to challenge Bill Mauro in Thunder Bay Atikokan.
NDP Leader Andrea Horwath was in Thunder Bay and in her speech to NDP supporters at the Lakehead Labour Hall took large swipes at Liberal leader Kathleen Wynne, and both local MPPs.
Andrea Horwath was in full campaign mode in Thunder Bay Ontario today. The Liberals are, in the view of Horwath “Only good at making campaign promises, hosting announcements, and then failing to follow through”. The NDP leader pointed to the Ring of Fire in Northern Ontario and the Far North Act as proof the Liberals do not get the north.

NDP members in Thunder Bay Atikokan filled the room at the Lakehead Labour Centre. Federal MP John Rafferty stated that “I have never seen a nomination meeting this big in Thunder Bay”. Rafferty was working the room seeking pledges from NDP faithful, and raised several thousand dollars.
In attacking the Liberals, Horwath in her speech stated that on healthcare, roads, gas prices, and hydro, the Ontario Liberals have “Choosen Photo-ops over Action”.
Mary Kozorys stated, “Our social safety net has been reduced to threads. Mr Mauro has done nothing but hide from the constituents he has been elected to represent and avoid the issues they bring forward. He has proven he is our invisible representative”.
The New Democrat leader is sounding like the NDP are ready to vote down the Liberal budget in April which would bring on an election.
