Thunder Bay Police arrested a female suspect in a robbery of the Red River Road Shoppers Drug Mart.

Suspect Arrested in Shoppers Drug Robbery

THUNDER BAY – Crime News – Thunder Bay Police have arrested a female this morning responsible for an robbery at the Shoppers Drug mart located at 901 Red River Road.

Police received several 911 calls just before 10:00AM this morning form the Shoppers Drug Mart to report a robbery that had just occurred.

According to Thunder Bay Police, “A lone female entered the store, produced a knife and demanded narcotics. The female attempted to gain entry in to the safe but was unsuccessful. She was followed as she fled the business on foot heading towards the Picton Street area”.

Officers were alerted to her location and she was pointed out in the backyard of a Picton Street residence. She was arrested at gun point without incident. The knife was located by Police.

The suspect has been charged with Robbery, Disguise with Intent and Weapons Dangerous to the Public. She will appear in court tomorrow morning.

This investigation is ongoing.

The Mac’s Convenience Store across the street from the Shoppers Drug Mart has started having a uniformed security guard on site to keep the store safe.
