Gas Stations Report Mixed Blend

THUNDER BAY – News – Updated 16:00- Across the City of Thunder Bay and now Marathon, Nipigon, Schreiber, Manitouwadge there are gas stations that are out of gas. The situation coming at the start of the Christmas holiday travelling season couldn’t come at a worse time.

David R. Williams from Shell reports, “Due to logistical and weather related issues, we experienced short-term run-outs at some of our Retail sites in the Thunder Bay area. We apologize for the inconvenience this caused our customers and assure them this supply issue is temporary.”

Leanne Dohy from Imperial Oil tells NNL, “We have experienced weather delays, and rail backups”. Imperial Oil stations that are experiencing tightness in the market are not company owned service stations.

“We are doing everything in our power to get fuel to our customers,” stated Dohy. “There is a tightness of supply in the market right now”.

The story started breaking in the media on Friday, but there were rumours and discussions about the issue for about a week.

Shell stations on Red River Road in Thunder Bay are out of gas already. There are numerous stations across the city in a similar position.
