Sounds of the Season Support RFDA
THUNDER BAY – The Regional Food Distribution Association are hosting a very timely event, targeted at supporting the hungry in Thunder Bay and the district. At a time when we should all be celebrating the holidays, giving and sharing with one another; with wide-eyed expectation, embracing our very young and old alike.
Live Broadcast at 6:00AM
The Sounds of the Season is a day long event orchestrated by our very own local CBC Radio. NetNewsLedger.com will be live on site this morning starting at 06:00 with the excitement.
Today, the RFDA will be the scene of a plethora of activities meant to feature music that captivates the seasons, and serve comfort food to nourish the soul. The CBC will be broadcasting their morning and afternoon show live from the RFDA, challenging the community to drop by to donate food and money, in support of our 40+ member organizations that distribute hot meals and hampers to 14,000 individuals monthly. It is simply one way we will ensure that “no one goes hungry in our midst.”

The day will also feature local singers, a school choir, musicians, and life stories from volunteers and food bank users, …. just to set the tone for the day. The community is invited to share a bowl of soup prepared with love by volunteers in the RFDA kitchen. Local food entrepreneurs are engaged in a muffin bake-off that have been made with ingredients selected by CBC listeners.
