THUNDER BAY – Crime – Thunder Bay Police had another busy weekend. Sunday morning at about 03:00AM officers responded to a call as a Fulton Boulevard apartment building. When officers arrived they found a fellow tenant attending to a  man suffering from stab wounds.

The injured man was transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. He remains in intensive care.

Investigating officers later charged the injured man’s twenty-nine year old girlfriend with assault with a weapon. The suspect has been remanded in custody.

Police are continuing their investigation.

Thunder Bay Police responded to 199 calls for service over the twenty-four hour period on Sunday. Those reports included eight other domestic disputes.

The OPP report that the name of the driver of the transport truck who died Saturday night in a collision 15km East of English River is forty-three-year old Sukhwinder S. Thandi of Cambridge, Ontario.

The OPP have not released the names of the four men killed in the pickup truck that was travelling westbound as they have not been positively identified.

The accident has resulted in five deaths and the Trans-Canada Highway was closed while officers investigated the accident.
