NIPIGON – The Ontario Provincial Police were busy in Red Rock on Friday night. The OPP laid drug-related charges against three youth.

According to a statement from the Nipigon detachment, uniformed officers arrived at Nipigon-Red Rock District High School on Friday. There the officers observed a young person who appeared to be selling drugs outside the school.

The OPP investigation has led to multiple charges for possession of marijuana under thirty grams as well as charges for trafficking, and possession of marijuana for the purposes of trafficking. The youth also faces charges of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The suspect is being held in custody at the youth detention facility in Thunder Bay. The OPP report that two other males, one from Red Rock, Ont., and one from Hurkett, Ont., are also charged with possession of marijuana under 30 grams.

Both other youth will appear in a Nipigon court on December 3, 2013.
