THUNDER BAY – Crimebeat – Thunder Bay Police report that “Just before 11:00 a.m. this morning, a beige Nissan sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed on North Vickers St, and the driver failed to negotiate the turn onto Forest St and nearly crashed into a residence. The vehicle fled the scene, and was spotted by an officer in Westfort a short time later”.
“A short pursuit took place but the officer discontinued the chase for the sake of public safety at the corner of James Street and Mary Street. The vehicle was then involved in another collision at the corner of Gore Street and Mountable Avenue. minutes later then fled that scene as well and was found abandoned beside the C.P.R railway line.
Police continue to investigate, and would very much like to speak to any witnesses or anyone with knowledge of these events.
The driver is urged to come forward and speak to the police about these collisions at the first opportunity.
