Million Dollar Smiles Help Children
The cumulative efforts of our loyal community volunteers helps Million Dollar Smiles raise money to support gift-giving programs and special events for our MDS children and families.
THUNDER BAY – The price of a smile is small. The ripple effect of passing on a smile is immeasurable.
On Saturday, Thunder Bay Re/Max realtor Vince Mirabelli will be in Toronto. “I am flying in for the day because I sponsored a playground and am helping to build it for a sick child through a non-profit organization called Million Dollar Smiles,” shares the ever busy Mirabelli. “The build is happening in Stouffville which is around the Richmond HIll area”.
The project is another effort that the Thunder Bay Realtor does to put back. Last night Mirabelli was participating in the ‘Sexiest Man’ event hosted by Keynote Events at the Victoria Inn.
In addition to sitting on the Thunder Bay Health Sciences Foundation Board, working with Camp Quality, and numerous other local group, Mirabelli is taking a wider approach to passing on good deed.
“I thought the organization was awesome,” said Mirabelli. “I found out about it at an Anthony Robbins seminar I was attending”.
Why Toronto?
“That is where the organization is based,” states Vince.
In the case of this particular build, the young person is fighting leukaemia. The family was chosen by Million Dollar Smiles.
“What is special here,” comments Vince, “The father and his friends built a vintage Camaro in forty eight hours, and auctioned it off to help Sick Kids Hospital. They closed off their street and had a party and auction”.
Some people seeing all that some of Thunder Bay’s ‘Young Lions’ are doing in the community feel it is all staged for personal gain, or for some future political ambitions. Mirabelli simply says he likes helping people, and helping put back for young people is a great way to do that.
Mirabelli is taking the first flight out on Saturday, and the last flight back. Sunday it is back in the real estate game as he is hosting an open house.
