Dirty Girl Mud Run Fun for All!
THUNDER BAY – Dirty Girls held the first annual Mud Run with 740 participants and thousands of people out to enjoy a day of run, mud, food and music. Over $175,000 has been raised by the 105 teams participating in the event.
The five kilometre long run is set on a course that has lots of obstacles, and the opportunity to soak into the mud.
“Mud runs are really popular,” shares Sharla Brown. “What girl doesn’t want to be a ‘Dirty Girl’,” laughed event planner Sharla Brown.

The oldest participant is an eighty-two year young lady. The event held at This Old Barn in Murillo, started Brown explained when a girlfriend of hers made the suggestion. Ten months of planning led to today’s very successful event.

The event opened and ran under clear sunny Northwestern Ontario skies, and attracted thousands to come out and cheer on the ladies, and enjoy music from Capri Anderson, food, information from vendors on site, and fight cancer.

The age range started young, and ended young. The oldest, but youthful participates ranged up to eighty-two years young!
