THUNDER BAY – Mayor Hobbs states, “I was proud to see the many ups, and notice the downs in the 2012 Annual Report to the Community”. The annual report was presented to Council in the Chamber Monday evening.
The Mayor commented that “The corporate performance and increased investment in infrastructure was not easy in this economic climate”.
Hobbs thanked the Administration, the Council and the citizens who push so hard to make the city better.
The Annual Report goes over the economic growth. Ms. Bestwick stated that 259 new jobs were created. There was a significant amount of local construction.
As well there was over 9,000 visitors for the Royal Canadian Navy vessel the Ville de Quebec, when it visited Thunder Bay in 2012.
The report highlighted the investment and partnership in Youth Thunder Bay and Wasaya Group in the pilot project for youth in the city.
City Manager Tim Commisso gave a short address. Expressing how much has been done, but also what needs to be done.
