THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay Police Criminal Investigation Unit began investigating an alleged historical sexual assault in 2011. The investigation resulted in several other victims coming forward and the arrest of a 46 year old Thunder Bay male on Monday, June 17, 2013.
Thunder Bay Police laid Sexual Assault Charges
Jeff Paxton has been charged with:
· four counts of Gross Indecency
· four counts of Sexual Assault
· two counts of Invitation to Sexual Touching
The charges stem from incidents that occurred between 1983 and 2004 while Paxton was:
· a bible councilor at Round Lake Bible Camp
· involved in local churches
· a local business owner of the Great Northwest Coffee Company
· a person in authority as a babysitter
There are a number of male victims in these allegations who were between the ages of 7 and 14 years of age at the time of the incidents. The investigation is still on going as more victims and witnesses are coming forward.
Paxton made a court appearance today and has been remanded to the district jail with a future court date of June 21st, 2013.

Over the past 24 hours Thunder Bay Police responded to 27 calls. There were were eight quality of life calls, that included eight liquor related calls. There were also five break and enters in the time period.
