QUEENS PARK – The Ontario Budget passed, Queen’s Park is on summer recess, and the Ontario Progressive Conservatives have hit the campaign trail. Today the PCs have launched an advertising campaign designed to keep the pressure on the Wynne Government over the issue of the Power Plant Scandal.

The Ontario PCs assert “Nothing has changed”

“Nothing has changed with Kathleen Wynne as Premier. In fact, she co-chaired Dalton McGuinty’s campaign, overseeing staff who called the shots on the gas plant cancellation”.

The Liberal Budget was supported by the New Democrats. That move kept the Wynne minority government afloat in Queens Park.

The Liberals are countering with business as usual, selling the budget is not ongoing. The Premier was at the opening of the new healthcare planning launch in Toronto.

Liberals on with the business of Ontario

There are 107 seats in Queens Park, the Liberals currently hold 50, the Progressive Conservatives 36, and the New Democrats hold 18 seats. There are currently three vacancies. The resignation of Dalton McGuinty who stepped down after the legislative session likely takes some of the sting out of the efforts of the PCs to link Wynne and McGuinty.

It also means with the three looming by-elections that campaigning over the summer will continue.
