THUNDER BAY – Volunteering and offering service to the community is a key component of Thunder Bay. Many people help out by volunteering in our city. Today Volunteer Thunder Bay celebrated the winners of their VTB Facebook Contest.
The Facebook contest, sponsored by the Power Centre, Urban Boutique and NetNewsledger, saw contestants design a t-shirt that was voted on by people on the Facebook page. The final winners were chosen by a panel of judges.
The winning designs will be printed on t-shirts and sold to raise money to support the many Volunteer Thunder Bay activities in our city. As well, $5 from each shirt sold will go to the charity chosen by the winners.
Youth winner Elissa Perry chose the Humane Society, and Adult winner Kim Koot chose Shelter House.
The contest ran from March 1 to May 17th.
T-shirts will be available at the Urban Boutique which has just relocated to Bay Street. Volunteer Thunder Bay is also looking for additional retailers who would be interested in selling the shirts.
