THUNDER BAY – Street cleaning efforts across Thunder Bay continue. Bright and early this morning, City Crews were out cleaning the Kam River Park roadways, and the road under the railroad bridge that leads to the park. The area was recently cleaned up by volunteers from Urban Greenscapes. The efforts from the City represent a solid step forward that tourists and residents can both enjoy over the summer.
Clean Up Continues
An early morning tour of the downtown Kam River waterfront demonstrated that we all live in a beautiful community.

The cool weather overnight that had a Frost Warning in effect didn’t bother these early morning visitors.
The downtown May and Victoria Business Community is banding together to make a difference in the area. That effort is being assisted by the city in cleaning up the area, and in the Thunder Bay Police engaged in far greater patrols.
Online visit the May & Victoria Business Association’s Facebook Page. The business owners are working together to encourage residents to give the area a second look. There are new shops, new businesses, and a whole new positive spirit forming in the downtown south core.
While many are counting on the new Court House to help revitalize the business core area, local business owners, and property owners are moving far faster. For budding entrepreneurs, the business opportunities in the core are there now, and likely more affordable now than they will be later, once the court house is open.
The area has a rich past, but with the growing enthusiasm and interest, it is very likely that the best days are ahead of the downtown South Core.
