THUNDER BAY – The Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association (NOMA) is pleased to announce Kristen Oliver will take over as Executive Director effective May 6, 2013.
“NOMA was pleased with the number and depth of those who applied for the position,” said Dave Canfield, Vice President – NOMA. “Ms. Oliver offers NOMA the best of a very good group given her mix of municipal, provincial and community leadership experience. We know that she will build on the base that our outgoing Executive Director, Charla Robinson, has created and help move our organization further. We look forward to working with Kristen over the next number of years.”
Ms. Oliver has a strong background in both the municipal and provincial levels of government. She spent seven years working for the City of Thunder Bay as Policy Assistant to Mayor Peterson. Prior to that, she was employed by the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as Special Assistant to Lyn McLeod, MPP. Currently, Ms. Oliver is President of Leadership Thunder Bay and participates in other community-based activities.
“I am really looking forward to working with the NOMA Board and Members,” said Kristen Oliver. “It’s an exciting time in this region and I am confident that by working together, we will continue to move northwestern Ontario forward making our communities stronger.”
Ms. Oliver replaces outgoing Executive Director, Charla Robinson who has accepted the position of President of the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce.
