Thunder Bay PoliceTHUNDER BAY – Crime – A busy weekend for Thunder Bay Police. Traffic incidents slightly topped Quality of Life calls over the past twenty-four hours. There were 30 traffic incidents compared to twenty-six Quality of Life calls. In addition there were two weapons offences and one sexual assault.

Thunder Bay Crime Report April 22 2013

Thunder Bay Police report, “While responding to a break and enter in progress at 3:45 p.m. on Sunday, April 21st, 2013 at a North Court Street residence, officer’s located the vehicle believed to be involved in an incident at the corner of Court Street and River Street. Officers pulled the vehicle over and subsequently arrested the 35 year old male driver for Impaired Operation of Motor Vehicle”.

Other patrol officers attend the residence and spoke to the 34 year old male complainant who explained that the unknown intoxicated male entered his residence through the front door and was immediately ordered to leave. When the male did not leave, the homeowner had to forcefully remove the male from his residence.

While the unknown male was outside, he threw a snow shovel at the front door breaking the glass on the door and uttering threats at the homeowner. The male then left in his vehicle and returned immediately and threw a second shovel at the residence causing more damage. The male then left the areas in a vehicle and was apprehended by officers responding to the call.

There were no injuries in this incident however there was damage done to the residence.

A 35 year old Thunder Bay man has been charged with:
– Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle
– Drive Over 80 mg
– Uttering Threats
– Mischief Under $5,000
– Break & Enter

He will make a court appearance later today.
