Thunder Bay Police cocaine bustTHUNDER BAY – Crime – Thunder Bay Police have made an arrest has been made in a murder investigation that dates back to 2009. In July 2009 Police investigated the death of Edgar Marion after a report that a car had been found burned out in the area known as Shuniah Mines.

Thunder Bay Police investigation pays off 

The car and body found inside were linked to an earlier fire at an Algoma Street address.

The investigation resulted with Leif Hobson being charged for 1st Degree Murder, Arson and Indignity to a Dead Body. His charges are still before the courts.

Police believed that more than one person was involved in the incident.  The investigation continued after the initial arrest. New information revealed the identity of another person involved.

On March 1st, 2013 Thunder Bay Police arrested 23 year old Samantha Drake as an Accessory to Murder after the Fact, Arson x 2, and Indignity to a Dead Body. 

Drake has been held in custody as a result of the charges.  Her first court date is March 4, 2013.
